social media and wind of change

Lots of bugging around for the impact/pros and cons of social media in last few years. The introduction of facebook and twitter has not only bring the closeness in the virtual society but also has been a medium for wind of change.

In the jumble of social medias and the groups organized through it to bring  change in the society, Nepal had also been in the list. Though political system has been constant (like it was in the Rana autocracy), corruption has been pumping, frustration among people constantly increasing and development is constant (like it was 200 years ago), one thing has been appreciable. The community (particularly 'youth' as defined by UN) has been techno-enthusiastic, and they have been able to walk along with rest of the develop society. Today almost every nepalese start their day with either twitter or facebook instead of bed tea, which has been seen as the change!!

However in recent few days, there has been much talked about the mobilisation of youths through social media in Nepal. Either it has been the 'bhrastacharilai kiira paros' or 'jyaala puura liyau aba sambidhan deu' or 'we tweet for cause' or 'lets donate blood-save lives', these campaigns has been much talked around drawing more positive and negative feedbacks.

Here as I am invlove with 'we tweet for cause' campaign, I would like to share things which I have felt while the mission 4 is being the talk of town. And yes one thing, i am not being racist, partially dumb or insane, but just writing what i have felt and you may not agree on this.

So a group of twitter users had come up with an idea of tweeting for cause and hence tfcnepal was formed. It was not a sole concept or sole effort but a bunches of ideas. At starting the handle @tfcnepal, it had some 25 followers and in the timespan of 6 months some more 600 people had been following this change.

Tfcnpal in its 6 months span have already organised 3 missions which were quite successful and the members felt that we were able to bring smile on the faces though it was for temporary period of time. After the break of almost 1 month, tfc-ians gathered together, discussed, shared ideas and bring the committment that yeah the right time has arrived to bring smile through mission 4.

Fund collection has been always been the integral part of any program hence it was necessary to inform people about the noble effort we all are trying and to encourage them to join hand!! In this process the blog was written, people shared the blogs in their timeline, discuss more about it and finally a mission was on the wing. But in last few days, the criticism has been arising (which is really good for enhancement) and would like to say something about that.

The most constant criticism people are arising is about 'cheap publicity' of tfcnepal. This word itself is really exaggerated and versatile and have various meaning. I am still confused about how you will define 'cheap publicity'. Is simply putting the blog link in twitter timeline is cheap publicity?? or writing about the mission is also being cheaply publicized. If it is the case, then more than 10000 tweets a day were send during the recent Egyptian crisis so should it also be called a cheap publicity of revolution? The constant tweets on lebanon, tweets about blood donation etc. should also be categorized as 'cheap publicity tweets' then.

TFCnepal is doing mission 4 and simply we want more people to join the cause. However, I am sure that non of the tfc-ians have ever tweeted or mentioned any individuals asking for the donation or support. Also, non of the tweets ever resembles that the following person have given more donation then another person.

However, those who had given donation should be acknowledged. And this is what written in the FAQ section of tfcnepal's website. There is written that, your every donation will be in a record will be publicly displayed so that the accountability and transparency are maintained. It is the huge effort by every individuals and tfcnepal should always take the responsibility of being accountable and transparent to every follower it have.

There may have been some constant error, however when you make mistake then it is proved that you are atleast doing something. However, I hope that tfcnepal will be rectifying the errors in coming days.

At last being the follower of tfcnepal, i feel that how much information tfcnepal's follower are passing was recquired as per the need. Nobody or non of the follower are trying to be popular or supreme than others by donating to tfcnepal. Each and every tfcnepal's follower have the equal right to get information about the missions this loose group is doing, and tfcnepal may be simply fulfilling its duty. After the mission, i urge tfcnepal to remain in the shadow for the timebeing, however for mission 5 we will equally inform the people about what we will be doing.

Don't count on what you have done.....be poud of what you are doing!!

Cya in the next nonfact things, till then

Keep tweeting for cause!!

the hot things around!!

so the festive season is here....

at the eve of the grand festival, nepal government was finally woken up!! but luckily our "non"-corrupted saar donot want to trouble his pupils......hence the home ministry secretary was transferred n market raid stopped..Spicy link about the transfer and raid?? .hell yeah!! either gacchadar saar had watched singham and dabang too many tyams or  he simply wants nepali people to celebrate feasty dashai as they had been celebrating it for fr last hundred years!! now everything is good, lama sir bak in the 'de' er construction business, sharmaa saar busy cooking sweets for dashain and gudpaake shaau deploying ppl in kalanki for gudpaak chaaiyo?? sale...

a completely different story, now BRB is being compared as the 'nayak' of nepalstan..his recent email account and economy attitude definitely drew the attention..but saar, i think ur bollywood quiz is really outdated...u have watched 'nayak' but did not watch 'gangajal' where sadhu yadav is in the right wing of ur chair....so how much anil kapoor u want to portray urself...u will always be a bihaari minister untill u are standing in the coalitions of sadhu nayak and chedi singh!!

So again i have a mood to write something (may be due to nothing-else-to-do routine) so wil be posting some few non-factual, non relevant things on this dashing board!!

Cya till then!!
